Eastern Muse and Tamna were released at Ukiyo Festival, Imphal, on Saturday, the 12th of October, 2019 by Dhruba Hazarika, President of North East Writers’ Forum and Ravi Singh, Publisher and Co-founder of Speaking Tiger.
Eastern Muse, poems from the East and North East India edited by Malsawmi Jacob & Jaydeep Sarangi, is published by AUTHORS P R E S S. Works of many members of North East Writers’ Forum are included in this anthology.
Malsawmi Jacob is a bilingual poet and writer. She has authored nine books, including two volumes of poems and a novel. She has also contributed poems, short stories and articles to several anthologies and journals. She earlier worked as an English lecturer in Aizawl and Bangalore, as a senior co-ordinator with SPARROW, Mumbai, and freelanced as a journalist with newspapers in Northeast India.
Jaydeep Sarangi is a widely published poet with eight collections and a translator. He is the Vice President of Guild of Indian English Writers Editors and Critics (GIEWEC) and the founder Secretary of Intercultural Poetry and Performance Library, ICCR, Kolkata. He guest edited four issues for the Muse India.He is currently Principal and professor of English at New Alipore College, Kolkata.
